My summer has been so chaotic. I have been working a lot and have had little time to update this dear little blog or do anything else really. These past few months have consisted of work, bars, and crocheting. I am trying to spend as much time as possible doing fun things before school starts. (only a few more days!) I also am going to be selling at a very awesome little boutique near where I live. Hallelu is the spot and I am very,very excited! I will be selling my knit goods..headbands and coozies. I also am moving in a few days into a darling townhouse! Cannot wait for this...more space, backyard, and really cute! All and all I have had a busy little summer. I am just looking forward to cooler days, pumpkins and sweaters ;).

I had a weekend getaway last week. The trip was very much needed and really lovely. Went strawberry picking, enjoyed strawberry mojitos, visited a lovely garden and just relaxed. A perfect way to kick off the summer. :)

New Addition, Baby Riley Skywalker

My sister and I have added a new furry addition to our households. (We currently have joint custody of him till we move!) Willow and Dynamite now have a new little brother. Our new baby is Riley Skywalker! A four month old maltese/yorkie mix..so a little petite morkie. He is adorable, naughty and a handful.

P.S. He is named after Rilo Kiley (Riley ;])

The weather has been so lovely this spring. For once it actually feels like spring here versus summer. I love how slowly it has taken for it to turn very warm!

I am in love with hats, floral prints, chunky heels and dresses. So naturally this outfit is one of my favorites ;)

I don't know what prevailed me so long to come back here. I think the rush of the holiday season, working and being at my parents house for three weeks kind of did it. I have been meaning to come back i just wasn't sure how to even approach this blog again. I started it almost a year ago with different intentions and lack of knowledge on blogs. Now I have a better understanding of what I want to write and give to all of you. I have contemplating moving to a different platform but I might just stick here and change the name around. I still read all of your blogs daily. I have a Sunday routine as well...i lay in bed, eat breakfast and read all of your blogs. Tradition and i love it. So for my own sake and hopefully your entertainment I am back. I want to stick around.. I have a lot to share. I just needed time to think things through and have a break. :)

Autumn is here and one of my favorite fall things is PUMPKINS! But who doesn't love pumpkins? Pumpkin pie smells wonderful. I love the taste of Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte. I am also looking forward to my visit to the pumpkin patch soon.

Too get into the mood of fall I have been incorporating a lot of pumpkin related things into my life. From making this delicious pasta dish with a cream pumpkin sauce. I also made these wonderful cookies from Sunshine and Carousels. Although I altered it I added apples, and a secret ingredient. Which resulted in a fluffy cookie almost like a muffin top. They were delicious. Last but not least I experimented in the kitchen and made my mother special birthday cupcakes. Chai tea cupcakes with a pumpkin honey cream cheese icing. My family devoured them. Question is whats going to be on tonights menu?

What is everyones favorite fall trend?

I am really liking knee socks and tights. Then again I like them every year. ;]

Everyone enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, read a fantastic book, bake up a storm, take a long bike ride, watch a nightmare before christmas, enjoy a fire, bundle up. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy this wonderful season.

rainy days

Autumn is finally here and Halloween is just around the corner! I am rather excited for Halloween. I love dressing up in the costumes and going out with my friends. This year I have already planned on two costumes that I need to start working on as soon as I get a chance. I've been this past week and I just feel awful. It doesn't help that it is raining/flooding in Wilmington. So going out in the rain with a bad cold has bee very wet and uncomfortable. It is my second week as a photographer at my new job and lets just say I LOVE IT! It is absolutely fun and the pay is great!

I am really quite a big nerd. I love video games, super heros, comics, star wars, harry potter, kingdom hearts, the list could go on and on. So this year I am donning two super heroine costumes! Silk Spectre II and Wonderwoman!

I've been wanting to show you all my apartment for about a month or so now. I took two shots of two of my favorite things. I would take more but its a bit of a mess since I am too sick to get anything done.

I have finally returned from an over extended hiatus. One that may have not been announced exactly but a lot has been going on. I've missed you all! I have so much I want to talk about but I think it might be best if i break up this post just a wee bit. So that way there will be more blog posts for you all!

Here is a list of all the awesome things going on right now in my life. Everything has flipped back to normal!
1. I have internet again!
2. I moved into my new gorgeous apartment! I will take pictures as soon as my bf gets batteries in his camera.
3. I am up to 527 followers on tumblr. Which is insane.
4. I got a new job! As of yesterday and I start today! :]

Is anyone excited about fall? I am dying to wear all the pretty trends right now. Its killing me. I want to snuggle up in an oversized sweater and some boots. I am working on presents for my boyfriends up coming birthday and presents for Christmas. I've made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to even get into the mood. I already have two halloween costumes planned haha. I will be presenting my fall/winter line in the next few weeks. I also will be opening a new etsy shop for these goodies.

I also am thinking about cutting my hair. Not super short but still past my shoulders. I need help though! I am the worst at hair cuts because I get so scared. I've had numerous horror hair stories. I just want a fresh start on my tangled mess of hair. I know I am dying it darker soon and adding light pink lowlights. The summer has totally made my ends turn a light brown color. So i have two tone hair. This is my current hair right now. I'm just not sure what to do. So any pictures or suggestions would be amazing!

..I was thinking about going the whole zooey route since i already have the bangs.

Has anyone ever seen the show pushing daisies? Well its frickin awesome. I am so angry they cancelled it after two seasons. I just recentl discovered it and its my new favorite show. The leading lady Chuck has a fabulous wardrobe. Her frocks are so inspiring when i watch the show. The show is just an absolute blast of color and quirkiness. It is definitely something to check out on hulu.

august makes me queasy

Hey ladies! I am back after a much needed break and mental relaxation.
I didn't get the nanny job which sucks but I am still looking around! Hopefully something will work out soon. Thank you for all the kind words and comments! I greatly appreciated them and love you all

August makes me kind of sick. It makes me so uneasy because of the past. Two years ago in august was such a terrible thing but lets leave that for last. I have decided to do a bunch of new things with my life. So i have a list of goals for the month of August. Every beginning of the month I will make a list and at the end I will discuss how it went. I have decided to live my life to the fullest amount possible. I don't want to be a normal 21 year old. I want to learn new and interesting things. My facebook status was something I wrote the other night because it seems like everyone is rushing into marriage and children. I don't remember exactly what it is and it somehow is missing on my fb? go figure. Anyways this is what I think.. I want to live my life to the fullest possible extent. I want to drink cheap wine and get Chinese take out with my girls. I want to date guys with foreign accents and discuss politics over tea. I want to live in a loft in the city. I want an organic garden full of veggies. I want girls nights with chick flicks that make me cry. I want to watch foreign movies with subtitles. I want to go on a month long camping trip. I want to travel the world. Study in london. I want to be a teacher, a designer and laugh all the time. I want to collect antiques. Make more art, open a cupcake shop, write a novel. I want so so so much. I want so much more than an early marriage and a baby. This is my life and I am in control of this. This is God's plan for me.

So here is my monthly goals..
1) Finish reading Pride and Prejudice along with Sense and Sensibility. I am reading all the Jane Austen Books..although I've already read P&P
2) Learn to play the ukulele. I believe my boyfriend is going to teach me. ;]
3) Start my fall line and halloween costumes.(princess jasmine + hermione!) yeah!
4) Go on bike rides daily! I've been wanting to but just haven't had a chance
5) Start a lingerie line. My goal in highschool was to own my own undie shop with my BFF. I think it would be fun to make some pretty undergarments!
6)Paint more! Or paint every other day really..

...i think there are a few other things I contemplated earlier. I can't remember this list may be updated. I am ready to start my new life! I am ready to take advantage of my twenties. Let there be life! And *fingers crossed* that I can find a new job asap. Blehh.

P.S. August makes me sick for a certain reason. Two years ago my heart just broke. I don't want to get into details because I know some close friends read this blog. We are all mutual friends. (friends, me and boy) So i don't want to start anything silly. Anyways, I fell for a boy I've known since I was 15. Didn't see him for like three years. We started talking. Fell for him. Had a great time visiting, hanging out, snuggling. You know usual couple stuff. Anyways, we started dating. The day I left.. he dropped me off at the bus stop to go back to Charlotte. My plane was cancelled so I hitched a ride back to the pervious destination. Spent the night with him again. I had no money left or anything because I spent my last 23 dollars on getting a ride. He dropped me off at the bus station super early in the morning knowing i had no way of getting bus fare to the airport. He gave me my suitcase, kissed me on the cheeck and said i love you darling. Then bailed. My card was obviously declined. I stood outside in the cold and rain. I cried. I called people desperately. Missed my flight. Thankfully got home that night. Worst feeling ever.

hasn't felt the same

Hey ladies. It hasn't felt the same for me lately to blog over here. I am going through a lot of stress right now. Some personal things messing up with my blogging world. Miss Cara
told me to update my blog more and that made me smile. I just feel weird lately and I am slipping into a world that is altered. I'm just sad I guess. I am not sure if I should even blog here anymore. Anyways just for Cara I am blogging because I love her! She also added me on facebook which was a pleasant surprise. :]

On behalf of Cara..I am going to answers to questions she asked me earlier.
1) Do you have your own apartment?
Yes, I do! I actually am moving out by August 22nd. I haven't found a place to live yet though.. and I am not sure if i am even staying here now. (Oh Cara if you look at the birthday picture of me that you commented on you'll see my apt living room in the background:]. Oh and bedroom door ;])

Do you have a job?
Currently..no. I hate it. It drives me crazy. I am praying/hoping to get this nanny position I just was interviewed for today. It is perfect for me honestly. Its the only motivation I've had lately. *fingers crossed, prayers keep going* Please, keep me in your prayers! I really need this job to stay in wilmington.

I am loving the idea of fall right now. I am craving to get a few of these items for my fall wardrobe. What do you all think? I know my style is a little odd.. :]

he was the bravest man i ever knew

I know, I know many people aren't too fond of Severus Snape. I though have a soft spot for him. I am one of those weirdos who feel too much. I am also one of those people who has a soft spot for others who seem pushed away. I know a lot of people think Snape was a jerk, and so on and so on. I honestly believe h was a nice guy who had a bad string of unfortunate events. He did save Harry in the first book. He also was hopefully in love with Lily Potter and protected her son for the rest of his life. He also worked as a double agent and did a realllly good job. So this HP post is dedicated to Snape. You may not agree with me but I stand by what I say and what Harry said: "He was the bravest man I ever knew." (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)

I know the next statement I say may make me sound borderline crazy but.. I am already excited for fall and christmas! I already started working on some presents..so that way I don't get too stressed out close to the date. I will have to share some pictures in my next post. I thought it'd be lovely to share a little bit of my wish list. I personally feel that these items are useful and very relevant to my life.

1) A dress form! I reallly need one. It is kind of hard creating clothes at times because I have to put it up against myself. Which kind of sucks cause I only have two hands..too bad i don'tt have eight or so. I would love to get an adjustable one so it'd be easier to make other people's clothes. Easier to size things out, and easier to make my own patterns with. I am saving up for one and maybe adding it on my christmas list this year. *fingers crossed*

2)A Tablet for my Macbook Pro. I love working on graphics, art and all that fun stuff. I work on art outside of the computer world such as painting, drawing, and some other fun stuff. I have been wanting a tablet for a while now though. I think it'd be great for making some clothes designs and other fun things.

3) A serger! Currently I don't have one and I definitely want to get one as soon as possible. Thankfully I have a finishing stitch on one of my other sewing machines. I just feel like it'd be handy if I had one. A nice professional finish.

Thats all I really wish for I hate being greedy. I feel guilty just even wanting any of those items! Do any of you sew? Do any of you want a quick/wearable/cute tutorial? I kind of want to make one for all of you. I think it'd be fun. I need ideas though if you even want one! Let me know

Since it seems everyone enjoyed my last post about HP i thought it'd be fun to continue the trend. I am going to add a touch of HP to every post for a little while. Today though I am focusing on the gorgeous and fresh Emma Watson. I still remember seeing her with her bushy frizzy hair and now she is this gorgeous woman. Yes I said woman. I believe she is a way better role model then Miley Cyrus could ever wish to be. Emma Watson turned in to a lovely woman. I can't wait to see her in other roles.

i love these shorts! i think i am going to go thrifting and find a pair of jeans. then i will cut them up. ;]

Oh and speaking of other roles. They are creating The Perks of Being a Wallflower into a movie. Which I am honestly not happy with at all. The book was amazing and I'd hate for them to ruin the specialness of this wonderful story. Although Emma Watson is rumored to be playing Sam. We will see what happens..

I feel like i haven't had an OOTD in forever. So I finally snapped a picture of the outfit I was wearing today. Don't mind the wrinkly skirt. First off I am so sorry that I've been a horrible blogger. I am also sorry I haven't been commenting as much. Its just been a crazy busy mess lately plus still have internet problem. I promise I'll be a better blogger friend to you all and if i have to get on my iphone to comment. I shall :]

It is almost the beginning of the end. I can't believe it. Can you guys? It kind of breaks my heart that within in a year it will all be over. :'[ I plan on having my own little harry potter party this fall. I think it would be a nice start for the season. Also, I am going as Princess Jasmine and Hermione for halloween. Should be fun! :]

Anyone else excited for Harry Potter?
I honestly just tried to write a list out of my favorite books in order but I can't! All of them just built up into a great collection. Something i want to share with my kids also. Ironically as i type this i am wearing my Gryffindor shirt. ;]

It hasn't even been six months since I reallly started to sew ( i did mess around when i was like 12). I can't believe how much I have improved since then. I am so blessed to have gained this skill and also for having a great bf who taught me the ropes. I also am so blessed that i have all of you amazing people who actually read this silly blog. All of your wonderful and sweet comments has given me the drive to start sewing more and more. Fall is approaching and I am excited to introduce my fall line to you all when it is time. I love you guys and I appreciate every comment you have left me. Thank you for letting my blog blossom a little bit. Even though i only have 27 followers I thought i wouldn't even make it to ten. Hello Ladies! As promised I am posting the two dresses I made. I love both of these dresses a lot. Specially the short one. I've had so many compliments on it so far which makes me feel really happy about my dresses.

My maxi dress: I love the colors in these dress. The red is so vibrant.

Circle brown and cream dress. It reminds me of the 70s. Which is a decade I am loving right now.

I saw Toy Story 3 finally on Friday. It was so so so good! It almost made me cry though. I love how I got the chance to grow up with toy story. It was such a great last toy story and it tied up everything wonderfully. I am definitely going to have to purchase it on DVD when it comes out. My boyfriend, my friend Michelle,and I were probably the oldest people there minus the parents. As we were leaving the movie we were attacking by loads of children. One child decided to slip his hand up the dress I was wearing and grab my butt. Another child grabbed my boyfriends hand. I also was pushed around in the bathroom by children half my size. I love children don't get me wrong but they were a crazy bunch in the movie.

I've been sewing so much lately. I have made a lot of lovely pieces! I made a very cute dress that reminds me of the 70s. I also made my first maxi dress, and I am currently working on a very baby dollish dress. The dress I am working on now I am kin of obsessed with making. It screams nothing but cuteness. Pink fabric with a bow print, cream jersey, grey stripes and a peter pan collar with a floral flip side. I went all out and crazy cute with this dress. I will have pictures of my creations soon! Speaking of sewing. I am working on my fall line and all I can say is its going to be pretty darn cute. I am feeling the vibe of soft fabrics, wonderful details, and peter pan collars. I am considering opening another etsy store with my little crafting creations away from my clothing. Pin cushions, cute pillows, the works. I am sorry y'all I am just really excited!

Since I don't have an OOTD here is something I enjoyed, something i look forward too, and something that makes me smile.

1) This morning I woke up really early because I wasn't feeling well. Michael left for VA so I was in bed alone and decided to watch 500 days of Summer. I love this movie! I've seen it over ten times by now. Pathetic? Maybe. Obsessive? Possibly. In love? Yes.

2) Holy deviled eggs! I am realllly excited to see Toy Story 3. I was supposed to see it yesterday but things came up. I heard its wonderful! How ironic..a commercial for ts3 just came on the tv haha.

vacation and one years

Hello darlings! No, I am not dead..I am just on vacation till sunday. I am in virginia beach with the boy visiting his family. It is a nice break from the struggles we are going through right now.

First off I need a huge favor. I need yall to keep me in your prayers please. I am going through a rough patch right now and I'll explain why.
1) I found out that my apt complex is cutting my lease short a month. Meaning in two weeks I have to move out. I have no place to move into so I am going to bum it on my sisters couch. It sucks because apartments here are so expensive. The ones that are cheap are in bad areas. So please pray I can find a nice apartment! Also, some of you may wonder why I can't just move in with my rents. I live about 4 hours away from my parents. I moved here to be with my bf and sister. Plus, i love wilmington! :]

2) I lost my joh. My amazing job that permitted me only to have to work part time and make enough to cover rent. So on top of losing the apartment, I lost my job. So i am struggling with money. So please pray i can find any job soon.

3) Also, I was mugged a week or so ago. Still freaked out.

On a happy note..Tuesday June 15th was my one year anniversary with Michael. It was splendid! I cannot believe its been a wonderful, amazing, fun year with him. Since we are having money problems we decided not to do anything big. We got mugs from the craft store..the ones you can decorate with those markers haha. Well we decorated these reallly cute mugs for each other. Mine was the cutest/sweetest present ever. Cd's were also made for each other. To top it all off Michael made me a wonderful dinner consisting of homemade pizza and chocolate mousse. Wonderful day! ♥

I've been wanting to write this post for a while but I just haven't had a chance. I got this idea from on of my favorite bloggers, Keiko .

So here we go..you all will get to know me a littler better.

1)I can never decide on my favorite color. I go through these weird color phases..like I've been on an orange kick. Although, I am now moving on to mint green and lavender. My ultimate favorite color is pink though ;].

2)I dated a guy for over two years, and was engaged to him within a year. I wasn't happy to say the least. I fell in love with another guy almost a thousand miles away. (i've know him forever) I fell hard, and had my heart broken. Go ahead and judge.

3) I am completely fascinated with Zooey Deschanel. I wish i could look like her she is simply gorgeous and i love her look! I like how she is sexy in an underrated way.

4) I have had anorexia since 7th grade. Its been an on going struggle for nine years now. Right now I am fine, and I have no problems eating. Although, the monster i call anorexia always like to kick me down.

5) I don't know how to do my makeup well! I mean I can do the basics like mascara, eye liner, powder etc. I honestly cannot do anything crazy..like smokey eyes, or even a night look. I try and I end up looking like a clown!

6)My biggest dream is to move back up North again. I would love to work in Boston for fashion or something on the lines of that. I just need to get out NC.

7) I love love love video games. I could sit down all day and play kingdom hearts

forever 21

No, I promise this isn't a post about the store (although i did find wonderful things there today) I'm finally 21 as of this past thursday! I feel so weird not having updated in the past week. So weird for me! But its been a wicked busy week, and hard time getting to an internet source. Anyways,my birthday was entertaining to say the least! I had wonderful yummy drinks. I have a few faves now..georgia peach, and a dragonberry mojito. SO GOOD. fabulous birthday! :] My birthday presents from my boyfriend were awesome! He got me this purse i've been eying. I also got a manicure/pedicure. its such a cute color (lavender!). I couldn't resist the pastel color even though it didn't match my dress.

Since I've missed last weeks tattoo segment heres one for today! Also I am thinking about getting a new tattoo tomorrow. I am thinking a peter pan quote because its one of my favorite things in life. I am going to talk about my most obvious tattoos. The ones everyone always notice first. The ones i get compliments for (wow you are so daring), dirty looks for (mostly people think i worship satan) or the remarks ("WOW! i bet that hurt!" With me replying not it didn't..) My stars! The story behind why i got these tattoos are far more entertaining then the meaning of them. I actually got these tats my first semester in college. My roomies and I were going to the other side of the state for the night. Jessica and I both had a craving to get a tattoo. It was actually our first date with the guys we came with. Our first date consisted of the boys buying us the tattoos we both got. (which were both star tattoos) It was such a memorable date and fun. Anyways pictures of the lovely set.

signature saturday and killer legs

So today will consist of two dresses/outfits! I didn't have the time to yesterday to run to the library and use the internet :[. I went on a total cleaning spree of my apartment along with some tasty dinner making. yum. Does anyone like to cook? Lately, I've been cooking a lot. I've made up my own recipe too. (honey ginger chicken) Tonight, I am experimenting and making coconut lime chicken.

So both dresses may look supa short on me but they really aren't that short (i promise!) I have this weird quality about me. I'm 5'1 but my legs are long. I have a short torso and long legs. Kind of silly. So when i wear short dresses i have killer legs. Also on the second dress its that type of material that clings to you so it rides up. Hence, I didn't notice in any of these pictures. I hope you all like the outfits though! I'm having fun with this week! I love wearing dresses because I feel its like a whole outfit. You don't have to worry about a top or a bottom cause you have them both! :]

I am sure you are all getting sick of my blog posts with just outfits. So i decided to talk about a girl's best friend..diamonds!

Diamonds were first worn by a french woman in 1430. She founded the fashion of wearing them. Agnes Sorel was the name of the Frenchwoman. Diamond is the hardest substance known to man. Also, a diamond's 'fire' or glow is a result of the way the substance reflects light within itself off of its many surfaces. The light is in turn reflected back to the eye creating a glow.
I'm a huge history buff. I love history, and reading about it. Usually I stick to things like wars, the women's movement but i thought fashion would be a bit more fun. Who doesn't like a nice diamond? Honestly, I am kind of a pearl girl ;]. Whats your favorite stone or piece of jewelry? I love earrings! :]

oh my goodness i spent so much money today! after work i ended up going to the mall with my close friend kate, my sister and my boy. i bought the most lovely peach colored,strapless, sweetheart neckline dress. i loveee it! i also got a super cute floral romper and a black/grey tube scarf. Okay enough about my shopping. Sorry shopping is my ultimate happiness.

So over atUnravelled Threads she is having a dress week challenge. Wear a dress everyday for a week! I love dresses so i though this was an awesome idea. Today would be dress day number one! You all should check it out and participate. It'd be fun to see everyones dress looks

I have this awesome but kind of boring body con dress. I always try to layer other dresses, tops or sweaters over it. Today was a bit gross and rainy in Wilmington so this is how this outfit came about. I love love floral, i love heels, i love bright colors, i love trench coats, and i love my bf glasses. Yup so i love this outfit! I feel awesome rocking this dress. So this post might be a little picture heavy. also, don't mind the silly faces my bf kept making me laugh.

tattoo segment one

i've decided to split up my tattoo post. so for now it will be one a week. i thought it'd be a fun little segment to do :]. I will post a picture and fill you in on the story behind them.

But first I am going to start a little theme for Saturday. Saturday will now be Signature Saturday . Meaning every Saturday I will talk about some of my favorite signature items. Todays signature item will be my signature perfume choices. I basically love love love perfume. I actually have three favorite and signature perfumes I wear. I try to stick to one for a while but I always end up mixing it up. Like i have my good luck perfume, my every day wear perfume and my evening going out perfume.

1) My favorite every day wear perfume is Fantasy by Britney Spears.I love how it smells exactly how it sounds. Its ridiculously lovely. It smell so sweet and i love it. I feel super girly when i wear it. I also adore the pink bottle with rhinestones. I love sparkly things and anything pink really.

2) My evening perfume is definitely Chance by Chanel . I love anything Chanel. The perfume lasts for a while. I can wear it all night with out worrying that scent has faded to nothing. Lovely lovely.

3) For good luck i love to wear Daisy by Marc Jacobs . I always wear it when i need a boost of luck. I've worn it to most of my job interviews, first days of work and sometimes just for fun. I love how light and floral it is. So springy :]

FInish this post off with one of my favorite tattoos. I believe this was my fourth tattoo but probably my favorite. I love birds. I absolutely do. I love the song Blackbird by the Beatles. This tattoo isn't after that song because its a sparrow but it makes me think of it. It represents freedom. I can relate to the Rilo Kiley lyrics, I am flawed if I'm not free This picture is from when I first got it 3 years ago so its not exactly looking like that anymore.

hiding out

Its a very rainy and very wet day in wilmington. Right now Michael and I are hiding in the library using real internet! I was trying so hard to connect onto a network at my apartment but couldn't. So we decided to go on this rainy night adventure. Also, i am going back to work tomorrow morning! Thank you God. :] I needed that one.

I feel like this week has been full of yummy treats and delicious foods. Everything i've eaten or tried has been the best thing i've had. So i feel like sharing on some of my new fave treats.

1)First on the list. I used to not like soda at all and i didn't drink it for a looong time. Wilmington kind of killed that streak. So instead of soda..I've been drinking Izze now. I used to drink it a a lot but not I am trying to get the 4 pack of it to store in my fridge. My fave is pomegranate. Tasty.

2) These amazing lovely Vegan Vanilla Cupcakes from our local co-op. They are so rich and tasty. Now i want one!

3) This bar thing my boyfriend had today..was one of the most amazing treats ive been given. It was Cherry Pie Flavored. It was delicious. I want more. I stole like a ton of bites out of his. This lovely treat was a Lara Bar I want one of those now too..

4) Some type of Blue Jamacian Coffee. I had a sample of it at Fresh Market and it was amazing. I love coffee. This stuff was just so smooth. I have to go back and buy some this week!

Also, i am moving this august to a new apartment. I have some ideas for redoing the place.
For my bedroom, I like the idea of the tree. My color palette is black,tiffany blue and gold. I know may sound strange but my mom got me this awesome black/gold comforter.

I am also digging this idea for my kitchen. I am thinking of painting one wall coral, and doing the whole picture on cabinet thing. I have the idea of clip frames and velcro for that one though

I love decorating so I am really pumped for this new apartment!! :] Btw, my next blog post is going to be all about my tattoos. And some sewing. I've been lacking on the whole sewing thing..i've been having spring fever.

living in the 70s

still no proper internet..fingers crossed this will be fixed soon! today i have decided to answer a few questions about myself. so everyone can get to know me a bit better! i encourage us all to do this!

Also, on a really random note! Before i get to the q&a's my boyfriend and i came up with a really random idea. The idea is named Babaritos You may be thinking what the heck is this crazy girl talking about. Well, we want to open our own burrito stand. We are burrito eating, burrito loving, and burrito tiempo kinda people. We were just messing around with the idea and then it became a legit idea. We are going to try to get the permits, raise the money with fundraisers and get this thing on the road. We are planning on coming up with crazy, awesome burritos. Not just the normal kind but some ethnic flair too it. Also, we want to keep the prices low because we are poor college kids! It sucks because we love burritos and the one place we go to its like 10 dollars plus + to enjoy a nice burrito. Not cool! So anyways, babaritos was born. (the name comes from the nickname for the bunny, baba)

How many tattoos do you have? What are they?
I have 7 tattoos, nothing too big. Start from my first. Jasmine Flower between my shoulder blades, stars on my chest, anchor on my waistline,sparrow on my foot, dove with olive branch on my ribs, home on my wrist, and last my tree with serendipity underneath. I get a lot of crap for having tattoos..because I'm a Christian and my dads a pastor. Its annoying but i just keep smiling and forget about judgement.

Tell me about your job:
I love my job! Although, i haven't been there in almost 2 weeks. (boss has been sick) I work as an assistant for an accountant. I do a lot of paper work, filing, running numbers through bank accounts, running errands and etc. I miss working right now! I am actually a nervous wreck because my boss hasn't called or texted me to let me know when i am coming in next! *fingers crossed that he does*

Last question to finish off the questions. What are your favorite shoes and why?
Oh my gosh, i can't pick just one. I love all my shoes. So i'll tell you my top 3 faves. My moccasins which were given to me from my bf from Christmas. They are so comfy, soft and go with most of my wardrobe. My Van's authentics, they match everything, they are broken in, and a great year round shoe. Last but not least my sandals from f21..for the same reasons as the other two pair. :]

Also, outfit of the day. I was kind of nervous showing of my stomach, I was kind of bloated and I'm self concsious about my weight. I was feeling the 60/70s vibe. I felt like this is something my mom would have worn back in the day. It was perfect for the beach too. I even wore a big floppy hat while laying out.

duct tape and grocery bag dress?

sorry i haven't updated/commented. i have lost good internet connection..long story. So i scramble around my living room looking for a teeny bit of connection. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon..or I'll be living at Starbucks.

(it has seriously taken me since friday to slowly work on this post because of the internet prob :[)

Anyways, thursday i went to an anything but clothes party. I took a little less than two hours to make this dress. Duct tape, trash bag, saran wrap and grocery bags create this number. Oh and a bit of lavender spray paint. I was literally duct taped in from the ribcage down to the skirt. I made the top with an old bikini top, and the skirt with an elastic band. I loved the result! I kept getting compliments all night how i won best costume/outfit. Or how it was really cute. I was so happy people liked it haha. My sister ended up wearing a pillow case, my friend Jenna scarves, and just endless other outfits.

Yesterday was wonderful too. Spent the day on the beach..had mexican food for lunch with great friends and finished the night off with Jenna's bday celebration. It was a good day! :]

my birthday is in 18 days and i am thinking of getting a vegan cake or cupcakes. yummy :] Do you all try to eat healthy? Or are any of you vegetarians?

the painful price of beauty

As i flipped through the channels tonight I couldn't find much to watch. I debated between that 70's show, possibly some other various channels. Then I saw Jessica Simpson's new show. I watched it a few times in the past and i sort of enjoyed it. It had an overall positive message and I needed something different to watch. I remember this one episode where they went to Thailand. In Thailand they met this woman named Panya Bunjan. You see in Thailand they value paler skin, they find it more attractive. She was a singer and wanted to be more beautiful. Her friend gave her some type of bleaching cream to make her skin lighter. It destroyed and totally damaged her skin. She barely left the house for five years. Her husband divorced her because she was no longer "Beautiful." Goodness, hearing all this set me into tears. I just couldn't stand what this woman had to go through. I just wanted to reach into the tv and give her a hug. I prayed for her and hoped that something good would happen to her. Jessica sat their holding Panya while both were in tears. It really was something touching. Well tonights episode was the season finale. They brought Panya to the states to help her out. (I was so glad!) They fixed her hair and gave her longer hair like she wanted. They fixed her skin with makeup. She looked absolutely stunning! She was the most beautiful woman there too! She glowed, she was so happy. You could tell how grateful she was. She cried, and cried, and cried. She could not stop saying thank you and hugging everyone. Jessica also set her up with her dermatologist to help correct her skin. This woman received the fresh start she deserved. She was beautiful inside, and out. Lets just say I was sitting on my couch balling.

I know Jessica isn't a very great icon or that many people are fond of her. But honestly, I think what she did was a really awesome thing. She is trying, and at least she is being real.

"There is a lot of pressure to feel beautiful," says Simpson. "It's one thing to have insecurities but when you have the whole world watching and people are criticizing you on top of it, it just can get to the point of being too much."
She continued, "People put so much pressure on women to be beautiful. There is always a new diet to follow, a new beauty product to use, but is that really what defines beauty?"

Here is what i think. I think we should all try to cut back on harmful beauty routines. Try to be a natural beauty. Try to better who we are. Tanning in tanning beds is one unsafe beauty habit. We all think that we are safe from skin cancer and that its so rare. Well, I am guilty of tanning bed usage. My new proposition is natural sunlight and some good ol' sunblock. I am quitting the tanning bed for good. (Although i barely go!) So do you think you got what it takes? Just something to think about.

the journey to find the perfect dress.

I've spent the whole day downtown and at mayfaire with my lovely boyfriend. trying to find the ultimate birthday dress. It was the worst thing ever. I found so many gorgeous items but as soon as i put it on..it was horrible. Nothing fit right! Smalls were too big and too long. I was getting so frustrated. We went to the last store of the day. First rack we went to was the sale rack. I saw a gorgeous black lace frock with a ribbon tie. Absolutely stunning. Well i got sidetracked by the sales girl who was very helpful and gave me ten million other dresses to try. The dress i grabbed first was pushed back for the last thing to try on. As soon as i put it on I had my fingers crossed and kept praying that it would fit. I was scared zipping it up that it would be too tight or too lose. As soon as i was done zipping it and tying the ribbon around my waist..I looked in the mirror. It was prefect. I came out of the dressing room telling my bf how perfect it was. It was only 31 dollars including tax. I won't be posting any picture of it till the big day. But I am thinking coral heels or maybe even yellow. The possibilities are endless. 24 more days and I'm 21!

i've been rushing around this afternoon throwing on things to wear to the beach. i planned on staying home and sewing for the day but spur of the moment beach trip came about. i don't wear makeup to the beach usually, so i try to up my look with some earrings. I know it sounds weird but i just love earrings..i wear them everywhere along with sunglasses. I own like 10 bathing suits so today i tried on about all of them till i decided to wear the one I have yet to test the waters in. Onward, to the outfit of the day!

I haven't had an outfit of the day post in a while. This truly isn't what I was wearing earlier but it was such a bargain and i was so excited. So i had to share of course :].

I fell across this little number while I was out grocery shopping with the boyfriend. I just couldn't get over how adorable it was. It didn't help that its so hot today and it just looked so comfortable to slip on.

It was such a bargain that i had to get it. I can't get over how it fits so well either. Not to tight or loose. Hello XL Children's Size! Anyways, they come in tons of colors. yellow, green, pink, red, orange. I wanted one in every color but i had to restrain myself. The back has a keyhole opening, and a bow. Cute details. Also, it feels wonderful and so soft! :] (huge plus!)

whattt a week!

this week has been one crazy week! i've been super busy with various celebrations and events. No time to really update at all haha. This update those is going to be pretty picture heavy!

Last saturday, I went and saw Beach House in Chapel Hill. It was my first time at chapel hill and i loved it! Such a cute little town. Beach House was so amazing. I felt like I was in a 1970s disco. Everyone was just swaying and dancing to the music. It was contagious, the night was alive, and the music was sinfully good. If you haven't heard of beach house. Then take a quick listen to one of their songs. I promise you will like it. Although, it is quite different.. i adore it.

Tuesday, I had a little star wars themed party. "May the fourth be with you." The costumes were loosely based on characters we chose. I was Leia, and my bf actually made my dress in one night! I actually loved the dress. It wasn't anything like the costume she was known for..but i wanted it to be a cute summery dress. I also couldn't pull of the two bun look because of my thin hair..so i went with one.

dress my boyfriend made me. he did it on his own, his design, and no pattern. I was impressed. Specially since it was just such a quick thing.

Last update of my week was last night. cinco de mayo! I enjoyed a few margaritas with my fave people, watched 500 days of summer, and went on a late night trip to our favorite food place Jimbo's for some pancakes.

i am the worst when it comes to random things in my purse. i seem to store everything in there..from random pieces of jewelry to business cards. Who knows what may lie in there..haha.

I decided to post a picture of my favorite purse and what lies in it. I left the little things in there..such as the random change,cards, and nose rings.

This is my favorite Kathy Von Zeelend purse. I just love the colors, the fabric and the hardware that makes up this gorgeous bag. My mother got it for me last year on my birthday. I adore it! Its perfect for the spring and summer. Now what lies in my purse..

1)Wallet; I really like this wallet. Its just a cheap wallet that my bf got me for Xmas but its so cute. I like the floral design a lot and the texture. Its also stuffed with receipts
2) 100 Calorie Snack; I am obsessed with snacks and I always eat them constantly.

On Friday I got the job as an assistant for an accounting firm. Which is a real blessing because it pays amazing, and it will help me pay for my bills. its a gross, soggy day in wilmington. it doesn't help that i am still a bit under the weather. so you might be seeing two blog posts today. i can finally sew again! it doesn't hurt my arm as much as it did the past week. i am working on finishing a few projects..one of them a really pretty summer/pastel dress for my etsy shop. you should see it soon. I am also done with the give away. I just need to get my bf to upload the pictures on his laptop for me. I have decided that either every two weeks there will be a new giveaway or like once a month. I am not too sure yet. I am hoping you all will like the giveaway, i spent an afternoon working on it. There will be a post on it later..promise :].

i never usually take pictures of myself anymore..back in highschool i was a camera whore. i admit i take a lot of webcam photos but thats usually with michael or when i am really bored. this picture is kinda cute/blurry. we had fun that day, it was quite lovely out as well.

i absolutely love the colors for this spring. soft blush pink, creams, nudes. plus the fabric is gorgeous, light weight, lots of denim, and lace. ahh this spring is lovely! speaking of lovely i made a gorgeous skirt tonight and will have to take pictures tomorrow. i absolutely adore so many things i find online that i have a click save obsession.

anyways today was a wonderful day. I had my interview at Forever 21. I am now an employee of Forever 21! :] Really excited and i start next week. This made my day and I was really excited. I've been working on new ideas and experiments for my store Home. I will have pictures soon. I am awful! Day 8: This photo makes me sad because of the story i read about this photograph. this woman's fiance was in the military and sadly died over in the middle east. she would like to lay on his grave and just think or even talk to him. i cannot imagine losing my fiance in anyway. i could not even begin to understand the pain she is in. whoever she is or where ever she is i hope things will get better for her soon. i saw this picture sometime last spring/summer and immediately knew this picture was a powerful thing and it made me tear up when i saw it. i have a lot of respect for people in the military as well. anyway's this picture is for day #8

so today i got a new baby bunny for Michael. He needed a pick me up and I wasn't sure what. My sister and I decided to go to the pet store after we had lunch. Thats when I met the cutest lop eared baby rabbit ever. I knew she was perfect to cheer up michael. We decided to name her Willow and Chai as her middle name ( yes all of our animals have middles names :p) Anyways here is a picture of her with my sister..

i was debating as to what i would write about what tickled my fancy. later tonight or tomorrow i am going to post my first giveaway. it won't be anything huge or anything like that just something cute and small but it will be fun. anyways I will post about my outfit from last night.

I had to go to the doctor today because I have some weird infection thats causing my glands to swell under my arm pit. it hurts so bad and the pain spreads up my arm. its horrible gah, i am hoping it goes away.

i just got the dress yesterday. it was instant love at first sight. it was only 15.99 too! i got it from a place i normally never shop at too which was suprising.

Day 5: My favorite quotes are from Peter Pan and Garden Stat.

Peter Pan is one of my favorite things in the whole world and I plan on getting this quote tattooed on me eventually.
"To die would be an awfully big adventure." I've loved Peter since I as a kid, and read most books that are parodies or spin offs of it. I love the original book and all the movies. I just adore Peter Pan. Haha I have a crush on a fictional character!

Also my other favorite quote from Garden State. "When I'm with you I feel so safe, Like I'm home." Like I sad in the past..home has a huge meaning for me in so many ways. I've always loved this quote and movie as well. I have a huge crush on Zach Braff.

Outfit from threeish days ago? It was reallllly hot out that day (89!!) I couldn't find something suitable and light enough to wear either. That is when this outfit came in play. Don't mind the horrible faces. My boyfriend seems to catch me at horrible moments. My hair is even worst. Humidity has made it into a poofy wavy mess. Plus the sunglasses are huge I know. I just can't go out in the sunlight with sunglasses. My eyes will burn out. Yeah, I'm weird.

Favorite Television Show: My all time two favorites are South Park and Desperate Housewives. I am also loving Vampire Diaries lately (on tonight!). I used to thing it was a ripoff of twilight but lately I've been getting into it. I actually have a block of my favorite tv shows lined up every week. I like to watch them as I sew.

my favorite book is: the perks of being a wallflower, harry potter series and this lullaby. all the books are wonderful. i also loved peter pan as a kid. i still do actually.

Today was such a great day! I got a new job at this toy swapping place and my new boss said I could sell some of my stuff there. Which is great! :] I also won this adorable dress:

i've gotten a lot of questions about whoare my style icons. the first people that pop in to my mind are audrey hepburn, zooey, & jenny lewis. i love al three of their styles! i also get style inspiration in pieces that just draw me in. i love florals, zippers, and knee socks lately. i am also really into neutral and soft pink colors. i one day hope to be a style icon. i love fashion too much!

i plan on making a lot of cute things this week because...i quit my baking job! i was getting drained with the hours, had no time to enjoy life or sewing (which is torture) and never got to cuddle up at night in bed with my cute boyfriend. so heres a hint at the new things i am going to create: open back dress with unique shape cut, light weight airy beaded dress (maybe beads), zipper double layer skirt. lots and lots of fun things!

my favorite movie of all time is:gah i can't pick just one! its star wars vs garden state vs edward scissor hands vs eternal and etc. but i'll tell my two most favorite recents.

Adam; so sweet, and heart touching (not corny i swear, just the words i chose are) the story is really cute, and it has a good plot line.

500 Days of Summer; I am fascinated and have a huge girl crush on Zooey. She is too damn cute. I like how the movie unfolds and ends. I also love the smiths touch, and her outfits were very inspiring.

spring is finally here in wilmington and it is plain wonderful. 83 today, and 80 something yesterday. I spend most of my days at the beach now. But in reality I am a bit miserable. My job is a kill joy. Most of you don't realize that I am a baker..yup a baker. A baker at Dunkin Donuts. Its okay I have no one supervising me it's just the hours are horrible.

anyways i have been having major nostalgia from summer 2008 when i just turned nineteen. its something thats been hard for me to get over for so long.. i am not sure why but there is def a mark on my heart.

friday michael, michelle and i made a random day trip to myrtle beach, south carolina. it was a short drive and we ended up wasting loads of money on crappy food. the beach was fun though and warmer than the beach here. it'll be almost in the 80's this week! loads of pictures.

so i am starting a clothing line called home. home has significant meaning to me in a lot of ways. i have the word home tattooed on my wrist for NH, an it also links back to home is where the heart is. i am really excited about this! i am trying to go with nice springy colors and feminine touches. i'll be selling all my stuff on etsy till i can finallly start my website. so there should be updates sooon!

i spent the night sewing and decided to finally go to bed at three...didn't work. michael and i decided to go to jimbos for a sudden late night craving for delicious pancakes. it was the best idea ever, and best date ever. i had fun and we ate every single bite. it's wonderful to be in love.

today i am working on a cute jean mini skirt with a giant bow in the front. i am really excited about this because it is my first jean material project. i'll post pictures as soon as i am done with it.

Yesterday, I went a little crazy and bought a ton of fabric. It was all on sale so I bought basically everything i saw and liked. I am working on the rest of Christy's and Carols dresses today as well as the skirt. Look at this cute fabric..they remind me of ice cream flavors

Summer is so close! I loved driving home to Concord in my new shorts! I donned a pair of sunglasses and a floppy hat for part of the day as well. Tomorrow it is supposed to be warmer which really excites. Gosh, i feel like this blog is a total bore and i need to spice it up a bit..we will see how soon enough.

I've decided to start an Etsy shop as soon as I have a few solid new pieces. After college I am going to try to open up my own shop if all goes well (fingers crossed!) Anyways..last night was interesting to say the least. Michael and I powered through making a gorgeous yellow dress in three hours so I could wear it out to some (lame) party. I was really excited about it because of my seams being so neat and clean. I was the only one in something that didn't resemble an outfit that didn't entitle a funeral outing. The party was very boring because I only had one beer and stood around as strange drunk people surrounded me. Two girls decided to hump guys for a good hour on the couch and I kept getting the dirty stink eye from flannel wearing girl. Weird, very weird. To say the least I suppose I am not the partying type.
Michael and I had a mini photoshoot last night. We were supposed to be taking picture of the new clothes for Burda but that was a failure because he was drunk and too silly haha. It ended up being blurred images of my crazy looking faces in outfits I made. Today I plan on finishing Riley's dress, andd having rehearsals which I am not to fond of right now..(rehearsals that is..i hate them!)
I am really excited for after spring break because I am getting the other room when our roommate moves out. I am planning on making it a sewing room complete with a pink desk haha. I have been deciding on how to decorate it for a while now. It'll be nice to finally have my own space in this apartment.

sewing has possessed me and i can't sleep with out dreaming about zippers. i absolutely love it and honestly making my own clothes is much more fun. it makes me happy too. i had a dream the other night which i actually want to make happen in real life. i was walking around this cafe/boutique thing..after a while in this dream i realized it really was mine! it was so detailed and real that i knew this wasn't some silly thing i dreamed about. it is something i want to make happen. aside from the sewing obsession i am trying very hard to stop eating so many sweets but these donuts are too too tempting. i am trying to lose a few pounds since i have put on weight from moving out/stress. wish me luck on that ha. we will see if i am successful.

i made this really cute/quick project the other day because i was obsessed with my lil red hood from my halloween costume. i thought it'd be fun to wear this in the spring when it is raining and what not! anyways i dig the ruffles, hood and flower. so sad that this excites me.
